Get rid of Termites

There are so many ways one can get rid of termites. It will be very ideal to study the situations under which one is applying a control system before you embark upon any of the options available. You must know in what way you want to get rid of termites, You must be sure if you want to get rid of termites from the soil, wood or from your environment.

You should also consider the type of termite control you want to use. Do you want to use a Termicide, Termite Baits or Biological Fungi, or just any other conventional methods? You should also determine if you want to do a pre-treatment or during construction of a home or after you have built your home.
One surest way to get rid of termites from your home is the use of Borates (disodium octaborate tetrahydrate), which are readily available in most chemical treatment shops and centers. Borates are easy to apply on termite infested areas and are cheaper than many other forms of treatment. You can also get rid of termites by performing the pressure treatment of wood. Pressure treatments involve the combination of chemicals such as creosote and chromated copper arsenate, which are used to prevent wood from decaying fungi as well as Termite activities. Getting rid of Termites require a constant monitoring as Termites can build mud tubes on treated surfaces. Termites can also find their ways into areas where chemical treatment has not penetrated.

Pressure treated woods should be used if the wood will be placed very close to moist soil conditions. Borates on the other hand are very soluble in water, hence must be prevented from constant rewetting. Constant rewetting will reduce the potency of the Borate chemicals. Borate treatment is not often used these days because of its harmful arsenic content.

It is also advisable to place physical barriers on structures to prevent them from attack by Subterranean Termites. Stainless-steel wire mesh is one of those physical barriers that should be put around structures such as Pipes, posts and foundations. Liquid Termicides can also be place at the outer layers of these structures, most especially heavy plastic . Termite blocker can also be place around conduits, plumbing and electrical pipes to get rid of Termites during a home construction.

It is obvious that when you try to get rid of termites, they always withdraw for some period of time especially when the treatment is not effective. They do come back later with full force and might cause more damages than their previous attacks. For you to effectively get rid of termite attacks, you must ensure that every angle and corners of infested arrears are adequately treated. It is often advisable sometimes that you fist of all flush affected materials with extremely hot water before you apply chemicals on them. You must first ensure that non affected materials are removed from infested ones. This will help you control the termite activities. You must ensure that you treat both affected and non affected materials.
